Geocaching
I am relatively new at it but have come to love Geocaching. (Web site is Geocaching.Com). Combines GPS technology with some great back roads. I use a Lowrance IWay 500 GPS for getting close to the site and have a Garmin Etrex to get me cross country in the FJ or hiking to the actual location. The IWay is used in the FJ, the motorhome and my Goldwing. It is a great tool for navigating this country in places that we are unfamiliar with and for guiding the motorhome through and around major cities.
We live and travel full time in our motorhome thus we are in different parts of the country all the time. We find that geocaching gets us into back roads where we would otherwise never know to go. Some caches are in town but many are placed by people who know their back roads. So for those who enjoy back roads and hiking up hills and have an FJ it is a great passtime.
The FJ is truly a geocaching machine. Wondering if other FJ owners are also doing geocaching?

Reason: correction
We go geocaching often too. We have found parks in town that we had driven by many times and never knew existed. We have found very nice scenic spots. Along with just having fun outdoors with technology.

Re: Geocaching
We are in Vegas right now but will be in Idaho in June-July. I will give it a try. We found two today, great road north of Vegas in the mountains. Great distant view of the Strip.

There might still be snow there when you get there, but worth a look-see for sure. There are three or four Geocaches in this canyon, in the high country of the Boulder Mountain Range. The remains of Boulder City, an old mining town from the 1800's are at the top, incredible country. The road amounts to a river bed, lots of fun...

Re: Geocaching
Awesome photos, looks like beautiful country. We had some great geocache finds in the Rosevelt NP in North Dakota and in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Didn't have the FJ then but had a 4X4 T100. Took it over Mosquito pass in Colorado from Alma to Leadville. Can't wait to take the same ride in the FJ.

I'm a big fan of geocaching as well. The nav system in my old Touareg got me started and now I'm addicted. The FJ is very well suited to geocaching duty!
