Does anyone know what color lights the dash is using and if it would be possible to change to the lighting to white if it isnt white already? Yeah I know a long winded question. Any help would be great.

Re: Interior Lights

Light blue as in VW purple or true light blue as in the headlights?

Re: Interior Lights

The main gauges (speedometer, tach, fuel/batt/temp trio) are backlit white (or slightly off-white). The center console (stereo, climate, and additional compass/inclinometer/outside temperature gauges) is backlit orange. The owner's manual gives instructions for changing the color of the stereo display--I haven't tried this, but I assume it changes only the stereo and not the other center console lights.

Re: Interior Lights

sweet... I want to switch the deck out for a model that illuminates white as well as switch any other lighting for ac/heat to white. My black FJ arrives April 4th. I can't wait.

On that note, anyone tried to change the stereo to red or purple? I haven't had the guts to mess with mine yet, but it sounds intriguing. Doesn't look too hard according to the manual.

Re: Interior Lights

On the topic in the thread title, how many other people are disappointed by the lack of interior lighting? One dome light in a black interior is just not going to cut it. Can't believe they didn't put some map lights in this truck.

Re: Interior Lights

I jumped back on this thread hoping the dome light would be the topic. I wonder if the power outlet in back could be of some use. Maybe one of those scented plug ins with jasmine oil. mmmm

Yeah, I pointed this out in the test drive yesterday. I've had map lights in every car since my 1983 Nissan Stanza, and swore I wouldn't do without again.

Not a deal breaker, but...disappointing.
