I got the quest 2 and FJ docking station today. (816.00 out the door) I was going to install it myself, but the trim panels around the shifters and emergency brake seem tough to remove. It says to use a nylon panel removing tool (looks like a plastic popcicle stick to me). Once you get the lower panels off, it's easy. Any trick to removing the shifter knob?

FOr those of us who come after you, would be great if you could take pictures of your process. Mine is on order and won't be here for another week or so.
I put mine in last week, total install time was under 1 hour. Only tools needed are a 10mm nut driver, a #2 Phillips screwdriver, and a small flat blade screwdriver. The included instructions are pretty simple to follow (sorry, I didn't take any pictures, I was in a hurry to play with the GPS). Here's a quick summary, follow along with the instructions for greater clarity;
Pull the glove box upward from the hinge side (grab the door at the hinges) after you remove the 2 Phillips screws - it has a couple of "fingers" on the side towards the steering wheel that don't allow that side to come up. After you pull the windshield side up you slide the whole box forward to get it out.
I found that the e-brake trim panel was easy to remove if you get a finger into the opening and pull it towards the driver's seat while pushing it upwards from underneath. Then it slides forward from the brake handle. Sounds complicated, but once you get a finger in there you'll see what I mean.
Unscrew both of the shift knobs (counter-clockwise) and the console cover just pops off if you pull it upwards.
The console itself pulls back after you remove the 4 screws (10mm nut driver) and lift it upward from the rear to clear the tabs at the front screw locations.
It seems that the clips on either side of the lower dash panel are almost impossible to remove without breaking them (the kit SHOULD include new ones), I used a small flat-bladed screwdriver to pry the pins out of the clips. I found that the local Auto Parts store has suitable replacements (1/2" head, 1/4" stem christmas tree fasteners) in a 3-pack for under $2. After you remove those clips and the 2 screws (10mm nut driver) from the lower dash panel, it just pulls out from the dash. Take care not to scratch the panel on the shift levers.
The only other hint I have to offer is that when you route the cable from the center dash power outlet up to the opening in the top of the dash, try to follow the flex-tube cable at the extreme left of the lower dash opening or you won't have enough slack at the top.
If you have not purchased this unit yet, this is where I got mine, for $750 including shipping:
Could someone who has installed the Toyota/Garmin Quest 2 post the instructions for all to see. It would be helpful for those considering buying the item and doing the install themselves. Also, it would be interesting to see where the power comes from. That may be a source for others who are considering other mods. Thanks,
Attached is a PDF of the Toyota instructions for installing the Garmin Quest 2 system. The power for the Quest 2 comes from a wire that is run to the back of the cigarette lighter/power outlet.

In theory, it should work just fine; the Quest 2 and the Quest both use the same Garmin suction-cup base, so I see no reason that Quest wouldn't work with the Toyota "Quest 2" dock.
