Can watch a DVD while using navigation on the avic-d3?

Is this available on the AVIC-D3? If not, what double din units can do this?

Re: Can watch a DVD while using navigation on the avic-d3?

All units employ some restriction to keep you from watching DVD while driving. There are 'bypass' modifications for most units. The D3 has DVD based navigation - requires the dvd be inserted therefore you can't do both simultaneously. The new Z2 uses hard drive navigation allowing both to be used at the same time. Don't know about other units. I'm getting the Z2 when it's released.

With the D3 you can plot your route and than it will be store into flash memory. Than you can remove the DVD and watch a movie only if you do the Bypass hack. If you need other direction or take a wrong turn it will ask for the NAV dvd to be put back in
