Garmin quest 2 security code?

My dealership is having a heck of a time finding the security code to activate my garmin quest 2. Anyone else have this problem? What/how did you do to fix it? Manager has been in contact with area rep's to no avail! I called garmin and they said that toyota put the codes on them to keep toyota employees from stealing them! They have been working on this (or so they say) for almost 2 days.............

Re: Garmin quest 2 security code?

Mine was hand written inside the lid of the outer box the unit came in.

I don't know if this was done by the parts department or somewhere further up the supply chain.

Hey colnajoe,

All of the Chicago Area Dealers were sent a notification in the mail from Toyota on Feb. 13, 2007 telling them the security code. Hopefully this would have been sent to all of the dealers in the US. My dealership had to call Toyota to get the number when they installed mine.

I hope this helps.

Re: Garmin quest 2 security code?

Yep, that what it is asking for. You only need to enter this the very first time you power up the unit.

btw, there is only one security code for ALL of the Toyota/Garmin Quest 2 units - I don't have it on me now, but I can post it tonight if anyone want it.

Re: Garmin quest 2 security code?

I just went thru a week of 2 dealers attempting to get the security code to activate my new FJ's port installed, Toyota modified, Quest 2 GPS unit. After multiple phone calls and e-mails, props to David Maus Toyota Service came thru after calling in the district manager to help out.

If anyone is looking for an activation code try 2032. Worked for me.
Good luck as I could not find this info anywhere.
