My Dual-Battery Setup

Just got my dual-battery setup complete and wanted to share with the group. the setup came from summit.

charge = charging both batteries and using both (1 + 2) truck thinks it has one battery
split = for use when using a lot of juice (winching). uses 1 and leaves 2 alone
start = used when main battery(1) is dead starts from (2)

Thanks for all the ideas I got(stole) from the forum.

Re: My Dual-Battery Setup

How the hell did you get both batteries to fit on the driver's side? That must be very tight?

Is there a reason you didn't use the "other" location? (Passenger side)

Thanks!

Re: My Dual-Battery Setup

I had to try several different batteries to get both the fit. one battery is a little smaller than the other. I also made a custom battery box and strap.
2 reasons i put the batteries on the drivers side.
1. wiring - I didn't want to run the long wires across the back
2. I want to put an air-compressor on the passengers side.

Re: My Dual-Battery Setup

Looks good. How much did the whole set-up cost, roughly, about, estimate, approximately, more or less, generally?

What is the Summit part #?

What back-up battery/size/model # is it?

Re: My Dual-Battery Setup

Sorry to bump an old topic, but has anyone done something like this?

I'm going to put my compressor on the passenger side space so doubling up the batteries in the existing location looks like a nice idea.

Thanks....
