Re: Another version of BigBill CB install

So, here is the real post...

I did my version of the BigBill CB install after receiving my BigBill special (that sounds kind of dirty doesn't it?) from Walcott. Everything came as detailed in BigBill's post including the Bandi mount. All went according to plan until I got to the end and just couldn't put the handset in the same place. I use that space for so much stuff and I wanted better access to the handset. So, I came out with the handset jack right below the front seat. Came out nice and clean and I like that it doesn't get in the way of anyone there.

My problem is I can't decide where to hang the handset. I have pictures of my 3 choice and will take advise on who thinks one place may be better than another. Each has pro's and con's, feel free to share your thoughts and I'll post the the pics of the results.

Choice A...

Choice B...

Choice C...

Obviously, I used fishing line to hold it in place and the handset will be affixed flat and level.

Good job.
I like optinon B or C, B a little more. But on B I think it should go over the fassen seat belt thinga ma jig (black dot screen).

Thanks, and I'm holding out on my opinion until I hear more feedback...

Sorry, that gave me a chuckle.

I'd go with this one:

I say that because I personally don't like anything interfering with my comfort zone/driving position and I think the driver's side positions would. A CB shouldn't be so easy to access that you feel like you should be talking on it all the time, you should probably be focused on driving! Also, if you have a co-pilot (preferably a really hot one!), it's much easier for them to utilize the CB on the passenger side and feel like they are important to the voyage...

I was quickly constructing the post and you slid in ahead of me. I just can't stand what the adverts do to a post with pics in them. Well, I can't stand what they do to all posts, let alone the ones with pics in them.

Very good points and feedback and I think my co-pilot is hot (I better say that just in case she is reading this also)...

That quote is worthless without pics!

Re: Another version of BigBill CB install

We found a small circular cell phone hanger that was a perfect fit for the lower right black circle in the center stack - it's the one just above where you have it in choice B. The CB fits in the hanger perfectly, and it looks like it belongs there.
