Re: How much dynomat does it take....

Use the link and check out some of the model cars.

technical

I would say you will want at least 3 bulk packs of extreme (about 100sq ft), you may also want to use some of their dynaliner or extremeliner for the floor and ceiling also.

The website has some "recipes" that might work for you.

Thanks JT for the direction. So basically 100 sqft won't do the whole FJ. It'll just be good for the doors and sides but NOT the floor and ceiling. If I wanted to do those, It'll be more material?

Thanks Noisycow but can you give me a break down of what that $331.34 entails.

Re: How much dynomat does it take....

When I installed Dynamat, I always had issues with it sticking 100 % to the roof of the vehicle. I have heard since then that Hush Mat, sticks really good and almost works better than dynamat in that paticular application. Hope this helps, otherwise dynamat works great.

Re: How much dynomat does it take....

Never had an issue with Dynamat, but you always want to use a roller, and it's preferable to do it on a warm day, it will make the dynamat easier to apply.

Also I think 100SQ ft is plenty, but you can use an additional bulk pack if you want. Some people will do multiple layers especially on the back area if they do bass.

Thanks JT. So you definitely think 100 sg ft of dynamat is enough to do an entire FJ? What I don't want to do is to teardown the FJ, start doing the dyna-matting and find out that I'm short. That would suck the big one!

Re: How much dynomat does it take....

That really depends on you, some people fully do doors, outer and inner skin, double layer back areas etc...

If you don't want to have too little, get a 4th pack maybe, but i think 3 would be enough, i would definitely spend another $40-50 on the liner for the floor especially towards the front of the vehicle.

Re: How much dynomat does it take....

JT, how hard is it to get the head liner down to install dynamat? I want to install some in the roof, entire floor, and all doors. I was thinking its an all day job, but I don't know anything about the head liner..
