When I turn the subwoofer off or on I don't hear any discernable difference in bass.
Do I have some settings wrong or is the FJammer sub completely gutless??
Thanks.
I used to think that the subwoofer didn't make a difference when I tested it (turning it off then back on). But now I can hear a some what noticeable difference.
Maybe I was expecting too much.
I had some music on tonight that had a fair amount of bass, but switching the sub on or off made no diff.
Maybe you guys are right and I need to try some music with a little more bass.
FYI, the stock sub takes a second or two to turn on. I did the same thing when I first got my FJ. I turned it on and off too fast and couldn't hear it. Turn it on and listen for awhile, and of course adjust your bass as needed.

Re: Why don't I hear a difference??
I agree, the OEM subwoofer is barely there. Probably why the UP2 was only like a $60 difference. I would have thought it would have been like the JBL subwoofer that are in Sequioas, 4runners, and Tundras/Tacomas. But no, it some brand x weakling of a sub.
Many years ago, ok, 7 yrs, when I had an exploder, it had a pioneer 6 disc HU, with pioneer sub and that thing kicked hard and practically pressurized the cabin. Talk about air movement. It's button for the sub was located on the HU. Man, I thought the FJ sub, with the button next to A-trac, would really be something. Kinda like a special big button ready to launch an ICBM or at least some kickin' bass, but no way....more like a dud!
Most music isn't that way...think tight bass versus booming bass. But we've grown accustom to our HT setups and Booty Bass and other club type music.
Sometimes we expect more bass listening to music when it doesn't exist, so we buy bigger subs and amps to overemphasise the bass because its no fun unless the car next to you can feel your groove.
With that said, the stock sub does lack some punch, but it is balanced with the stock system.
