Your fuse at the battery sould never be a higher rating than all the fuses combined at your amps. I.e. Your amps are rated at 25 amps each, you should have a main fuse rated at 50 amps. if you are using 60 amp fuses you are gluttin for trouble. In fact i might even run a 45 amp fuse to start with and see how that does. It is better to have to much protection than not enough. Having a lower amp rating fuse will do just that give you extra protection. If it blowes a few times then go up a few more amps but never exceed the max of your amplifiers combined. Chances are they will never need that kind of current to them and being a little under will do just fine. But if your friends make fun of you for using a small fuse then by all means go big. JK! Good Luck.
the fuse under the hood is to protect the power wire going to the amp. the fuse is rated for what gauge wire you have. you dont want a fuse higher than what that gauge wire can handle. the fuse in front of the amp is to protect the amp. the amps may only need a 50 amp fuse total, but if it is 4 gauge or 0 gauge going to the back, then you need to fuse for the current running through that wire. just because the amps dont need a ton of current, it doesnt mean that your power cable wont let it pass through if it were to get sliced or if it were to come loose.

Re: My FJ Stereo Install.....

i just took a peek at the original post. since it is 4 gauge wire, you need a 135 amp fuse per 4 gauge run. 4 gauge can let a maximum of 135 amps pass through it.

Re: My FJ Stereo Install.....

Actually there is really no space left for the heater vents under the seat - I basically covered them up with the amps....

hope it ok - i figure it will be fine....

It looks like the mounting brackets for the amp elevates it a 1/2 inch or so... is this correct? I've seen a lot of people mount there amps flush to the floor, seems like an accident waiting to happen (spilling a drink or something) to mount them flush.

Systems looks great. Any photos of the sub?
