Smaller alternative to a Cobra 29?

So, I've got a Cobra 29 that I've been planning on installing, but am less than confident in the glue-a-2x4-to-the-roof-above-the-liner method of placing it on the ceiling, and there really are no other convenient places. So now I'm contemplating smaller, hidable units(which may have addmittedly lower performance) as an alternative.

n\Any suggestions? I've read threads about the mini units that can be hidden inside the center console, but am wondering about performance issues, even with a well-calibrated & tuned antenna.

Suggestions or ideas?

Re: Smaller alternative to a Cobra 29?

i am not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I found this to be a great alternative to some the installs, it turned out to be a great location and a easy install. I also like the fact that it is a little less expensive than some of the alternatives...
CB Install in steeringwheel glovebox!!!
feel free to ask any questions that you might have.

Re: Smaller alternative to a Cobra 29?

I'm going to install a Cobra 75WXST unit in the next couple of weeks.

Midland has a great handheld that really burries the competition. Look for Rockrawler's description and installation in this thread. Sweet.
