Non-Pioneer Camera Hookup on D3

Does anyone know which type of plug the camera hookup uses on the D3? Pioneer's camera is overpriced and HUGE. Does the HU use the standard video RCA and 12v power connections, or is it proprietary?

This is correct info. It uses standard rca video cables. I used a non Pioneer camera.

Cool. Which one did you use? Has anyone tried one of the 'Ebay specials' for $40?

h2killr,
Nice set up! I was thinking about moving my back up camera to that location also. Now that I have seen how it looks, I will give it a shot.

Re: Non-Pioneer Camera Hookup on D3

Not a bad location. I had mine installed centered on the bumper but I have found that any type of foul weather makes it impossible to see without cleaning it off. I love the feature, though. Totally makes backing up and parking a breeze in addition to the added safety when my dog is milling around the driveway. Nice Mod!

Re: Non-Pioneer Camera Hookup on D3

I agree with Jimmy, those things get dirty in a hurry. I like the in-spare mount, I actually saw that same camera at CC down to $99 from $199. It would be nice to get a spare center cap and cut out a and exact spot for the camera. A flush fit would be nice!

Where did you run the wiring into the rig?

I ran the wires behind the license plate panel through a rubber grommet. Ill see if i can dig up a picture.
