FJ Jammer Alien Communication Device

As if I don't have enough crap to deal with (between tick bites, yet another break in on the girlfriend's car, post-lift sway bar issue, etc.) - my FJammer is acting really weird.

I pretty much listen to MP3 cds only (used the FM tuner maybe once) - anyhow, the last couple days something strange has been going on - the cd plays fine, I turn off the car, go to work or wherever and when I restart and the cd plays again, the display looks crazy weird - odd characters all over the place and no latin characters to speak of - all boxes, dashes, weird characters that look like something out of the show "V" (remember the aliens that disguised themselves as humans but were reptillian carnivores?) - after turning it off/on a couple times, the display returns to normal and the extra terrestrial looking letters disappear. WTF is that all about? Anybody have this issue or should I be transcribing the weird text for submission to SETI?

Re: FJ Jammer Alien Communication Device

Seems like several owners with stock stereos are having similar problems (based on reading other posts). Call Toyota to file a complaint. Stereo head units should last much longer then a year. Sounds like they have some funky issues going on. Best of luck contacting the Pleiades! But I'm sure that you would rather listen to tunes then let "ET Phone home"!

Re: FJ Jammer Alien Communication Device

Not that this will help you much but I've read a number of the posts about this and the way everyone describes the "characters" they are seeing sounds like when a computer program displays character place holders for a character the computer does not have the ACSII or font definition for.

Like I said I don't think that will do much but point at the CPU in the head unit as the problem.
