Clifford alarm/remote start

Hello,

I thought I was having a wiring problem, but I'm not sure. If I start the vehicle remotely, the outside lights (except the headlights) go on and off every few seconds. The gauge lights go on and off as well and the clock goes from bright to dim and back.

This happens until I take it out of Park. Once I put it in Park, it doesn't start again.

It might only happen with the headlights set to off.

I'm beginning to think this is a "feature" of the Clifford. Otherwise, something is screwy. Anyone else with this set up and this issue?

Thanks.

yea, mine does the same. I think it just wants you to know that the engine is running, I just guessed it was a notification system.

Re: Clifford alarm/remote start

Just to make sure I called clifford, the customer svce. person, who seemed a little slow, couldn't grasp the intracacies of this simple question. He suggested I call the installer and have the installer call tech support.

I called the installer and they said it is that way with all of the cars and that it is, indeed, a feature. Seeing the blinking lights reminds you that your car is already running so you don't accientially try and start it again.

Mystery solved I supposed.

I will say that this is stll one of the coolest unnecessary mods I've done. Plus getting the car started/warmed up a minute early is nice. And when it is hot and you want to leave the car running/AC on while you make a quick beer run, this will be really nice.

Re: Clifford alarm/remote start

works great when snowboarding, I normally start the car in the morning and preset the heaters to the on posistion, while we eat a quick breakfast or get ready for the day, once everyone gets to the car its not only warmed up but nice and toasty, I great thing as my last trip up to Mammoth in January it dumped like no other. and at one point -6 degrees at night.

Yes it is a feature. it is by default set up that way. the installer(you) can turn it off by using the valet button and following a sequence to turn it off. It should be in the installation booklet on how to do that.
