Overhead CB mount?

Has anyone done this or tried to do this, yet? I was even thinking of getting one of those cheapie overhead shelf-things as a last resort. What with the gps and the sat-radio, I want the CB OUT OF THE WAY! Looks cool, too.

Re: Overhead CB mount?

bartt - what kind of block heater did you use? My Toyota dealer tells me they don't make one specifically for the FJ. Is it the freezer-plug style?

Re: Overhead CB mount?

i mounted mine on the right side of the transmission, and it's out of the way just cut down a little bit on passenger leg room.but barely enuff to be a hindrance to anyone.

The dealers doen't seem to know squat about the block heaters for the FJ. The salesman, parts guy and the service manager tried to talk me out of it. But....... they were all talking about the old style freeze out plug type and the FJ doesn't use this type. They use the new style that inserts into the block cleanly from the outside. Never touches any liquids. They don't heat as fast or as well as the old style but their only 400 watts and only on one side of the block.

see my previous thread here.....
