Yep, I literally ran the cable under the plastic flooring from the driver side door jam over to the console.

Of course, that required the (partial) removal of the console, as well as, the plastic door jam covers. With both of those removed, you can get enough "slack" in the flooring to fish the cable underneath. (I use a straightened-out wire coat hanger as my usual fishing device.)

Just be sure to keep the cable routing close as close as you can to the drivers seat, so that the cable doesn't run under the plastic flooring where anyone might step.
