Re: CLEAN 12v Fuse Block Accessory Install w/Pics

I just finishedmy radio install with a dummy cover made with a face from a cheap radio.I cut a cd to glue into the slot for added realizum.I use this cover for when im parked in dangerous terratory. I made the finger bar out of a kitchen cabinet handle and I love it. It works nice when your resting your hand there while ajusting the touch screen.
Can I ask you a few questions :1 what size are the door speakers 2,I installed a factory woofer switch what does this control ,the 12volts to turn on the woofer amp or does it control the sound to the woofer? or both?
The reason being I got a bare bones sterio and want to add the woofer and rear speakers on my own.
You can see in the pic the single din is the disguise radio the outher is my all in one.I got this 1G radio fr 600.00 at the English town swap meet. If you can help me 1 door speaker size? 2 woofer switch controls what?

Re: CLEAN 12v Fuse Block Accessory Install w/Pics

Great write up. I will be using this as the basis of my install. A quick note - this site

WIRE

says a maximum 30 amp fuse should be used with 10 gauge wire. You may want to replace the 60 amp inline fuse coming off your battery with a smaller 30 amp fuse.

Caveat: I am no electrician - just going on what the site is telling me!!!!

I added one of these to my Rhino, works really good. It shuts down all power when the key is turned off so I don't accidently drain the battery. Painless makes all different sizes.

Brian, huge thanks for the template. I must have missed that earlier/in another post. That will save me more time than you know (I'm mechanically challenged)...

Thx!

Re: CLEAN 12v Fuse Block Accessory Install w/Pics

Shadow, thanks for the idea and great write-up. I finished mine yesterday, and it works great! I'm really pleased with it. My version is a hybrid between yours and Land Cruiser Steve's. I used the six-slot Blue Sea fuse block, activated with a relay and using a circuit breaker instead of a big fuse. I mounted the fuse block directly to the firewall; the hardest part of that was drilling through the thick insulation to make pilot holes for the sheet metal screws (insulation wraps around the drill bit very easily and clogs it!). Everything is in flex conduit and it looks great too; no one would even know it's there except for the circuit breaker and relay mounted on the engine compartment inner wall.
