I would want this thread stickied so I can find it faster. Thanks.

It's good practice to run ground wires to the same point to prevent ground loops which could cause interference with other electronic devices such as Ham radio or CB or stereo.
I'lll go ahead and sticky it, if one of the other mod's wants to remove it thats fine, Thanks Thong

Re: CLEAN 12v Fuse Block Accessory Install w/Pics

Very nice! I was wondering where I might place a terminal block, cause my wiring is starting to get messy. I really like that panel, esp with the cover. Nice fabrication too.

I like the idea of using a marine fuse block, I might look into this myself. Great info and pix!

Re: CLEAN 12v Fuse Block Accessory Install w/Pics

I had originally installed a Painless Wiring 7 circuit fuse block directly to the fire wall to the left of the brake assembly as shown above. When the time came to start thinking about where to mount the relays for lights and also a Bus-Bar I came across this thread. Shadow’s idea of making a mounting plate was the perfect solution. Great idea Shadow. I came up with a plate that accommodated the fuse block, Bus-Bar and 4 relays see photos below.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Shadow for this idea as well as all the others who take their time and effort to write out how they accomplished their projects and take photos for all of us to see. This forum is a gold mine of ideas from the most simple to the most complicated of projects. I thank you all, my FJ thanks you all!!

Re: CLEAN 12v Fuse Block Accessory Install w/Pics

This thread makes me want to rip out all my electrical and start over. I put in a fuse block for my roof accessories like CB, Radar and Lucrum. However they are not individually fused. Looks like I may be wrong on that.

If you look to left of my mirror, that's where the block is. Then I was gonna run the positive down the A-pillar to "somewhere" on the fuse box that was ignition-activated. Sounds like that would be strike one.

I was going to ground the accessories locally with a single bolt into the cage up there. Then I read TCao's comment aout ground loops and that would be strike two.

So it sounds like I nee to totally rethink how I was gonna do this. It would be a great benefit to us all if we could ship Mike out here for a couple weeks!
