Thanks to your write up, I just finished the same wiring job. I located my blue sea fuse block in the same location. (My bracket didn't turn out quite as nice as yours, but I'm happy with it.)
The only things I did slightly different from your install were:
1) I added two 1/4" loops (used to secure cables against walls) to either side of my bracket at the top. These are used to help in routing wires.
2) I put heat shrink tubing on all connections
3) put some RTV on the rubber gasket where the wiring was run from the engine compartment into the cabin
4) I have not yet added a fuse to the wiring supplying power to the new fuse block.
Your excellent write up was my reference and made the task 1000% easier for me. Thank you!

Can you run auxillary lights through this fuse block???
It depends on the type of lighting requirements, I am running IPF's they require you to go straight to the Battery for the power, they also have their own built in fuse block in the harness. If you plan on running fog's, or that type of lighting, that is how I would run it, right to this fuse block. I hope this helps.

so wait...how exactly do you get the fuseblock to activate on ignition and deactivate off ignition? I need some pictures or more detailed instructions...
And what accessories did you run to your fuseblock shadow?
To activate the fuse block with ignition you tap into a circuit in the main fuse block that is on with ign, off when key is off. That wire runs to a relay and that relay turns on the circuits in the fuse block.
I used the Painless Wiring Circuit Boss 7 circuit fuse block because it has 4 switched circuits and 3 constant.

Stan, what would be a good high amperage 12V relay that's typically available at auto parts stores?? I'm getting ready to install Blue Sea's 12 fuse slot module and make all 12 positions ignition off/on switchable.

Steve,
The Painless fuse block I used came with a 30 AMP relay attatched. That was to control 4 circuits. I am thinking that if you want to control 12 circuits with one relay you would at least want to double that to 60 Amps. I know that Advanced Auto and Auto Zone both sell the 30 AMP relays but not sure on anything bigger than that. Something that large may be a special order.

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Perhaps someplace that sells commercial truck parts/supplies.

Thanks, Stan.
Steve, I am not familiar with the fuse block you are using, but would it be possible to split the feed into 2 6 circuit units and then use two seperate 30 AMP supplies? THis would also allow you to use 2 smaller gauge supply lines rather than one large gauge wire to supply all 12 circuits. Just a thought.
Stan
