Re: CB Radio - Cobra 29 LTDSE

I bought a 29LTD Classic with bandimount and firestik and am doing an install I saw on here a few weeks ago but can't find it.

It uses the mounting holes for the mirror and I built a steel bracket that comes off that to mount the Radio. I had to make a third hole to stop some wobbling from the weight of the radio.

I am looking for an enamel paint close to primer grey (matches the headliner) and when you remove the radio you hardly see the mount. Will post up pics when it is done.

Looks factory.

Yeah, I did not opt for the weather channels on this one.
Everyone who hears me transmit says it is crystal clear and packs a punch.
I have the nightwatch Cobra, i was hoping to mod it but after reading your post, is it not possible? Darn!!! please let me know.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: CB Radio - Cobra 29 LTDSE

Why can you not mod it?
Should be able to whether it has the weather channels or not I think.

A CB shop did mine I think for under $30 a few years back.

Nice; that's slicker than 2 foot up a cow's behind.

I'm still pending spousal approval for buying the dang truck... ...the compromises of wedded bliss.

Looks nice, but I've got a double din GPS in there, so I can't put a CB in there. I'm still thinking about putting it flush with the back of the center console. You couldn't see it without turning around, but how often do you actually have to look at it?

Good idea also.
Aren't there some radios that have channel selectors on the microphone too?
