Yeah I just went out to check out the Alpine IDA-X001....and it's reeeaal nice I like it a lot.Alpine IDA-X001 Digital media receiver designed for iPod at Crutchfield.com
yea, i darn near ordered one. but i love my old 9855. once i put that deck in my FJ (i hadnt used it for a while) i fell back in love with it. i have a 9853 too, same thing different display. the only downside to that IDA is the fact that it doesnt have a built in CD player. i usually only use my ipod anyway, but its nice if someone brings their own music along. you would have to get a changer as well.

it restores the ipods format to a higher quality, almost CD, but being a SQ maniac i need to listen to CDs every now and then. even a burned CD sounds better than a ipod.

i'm sure they have one already hooked up to it since the cable plugs into the back of the unit. you dont ever even have to see the ipod. you should be able to navigate through one at the store though. it really is a cool unit.

its a 9855. i just love how it sounds, looks, functions, the display is awesome. i love the glide touch. the deck is just awesome.

it sounds unreal. and the functions it has. it has an active 3 way crossover, parametric or graphic EQ, time delay. i use all the processing in my amps because i have all that and way more built into them, but its nice to have for other people.
