satellite with any module and head unit isnt cd quality. it is somewhere between radio and cd.

UM-I already said that...the quality is acceptable. Due to the FJ Cruisers cavernous interior and good speaker placement, you hear all the higher frequencies which are the frequencies where audio artifacts are more noticiable (like cymbals crashing & flutes that sound like they're "under water").

The merger makes NO DIFFERENCE...both companies must make all new improvements "backwards compatible" and not obsolete existing radios (just like they did with colour TV).

Just spend the $$ you'd spend on a factory install, and buy the top of the line "Stiletto" radio with a car mount kit. It's just like an I-pod (you can download songs from the radio or your computer right to it) and it evens locks onto any open wireless connection in addition to satellite reception.
