12v outlet works but doesn't?

Alright i added another 12v outlet in the rear of my fj here.

And i ran 18guage wire to under the driver side of the dash to connect to a fuse panel i added here.

The fuse panel has a 10guage wire that runs through the firewall here.

and connects to a always-on 12v connection here.

i forgot to take pictures of the 18guage wire that goes from the inside fuse panel to the 12v relay, but i do know that that connection is good.

The problem is that the new rear 12v outlet appears not to work when i plug my Peltier cooled cooler.

The led on the plug doesnt even come on. However, when i plug my 1million candle power floodlight into it, it works great. I thought perhaps the polarity on the outlet somehow was backwards, but after whipping out my multimeter everything checks out ok. Any ideas? Thanks

Does the plug to your cooler (the part with the led) have a screw in it like it opens down the middle because sometimes they have fuses in them...check to make sure it good...if other things work in that out let then it has to be something in the cooler...

Strange...?? How many amp's is the fuse for the fount outlet I see in the back you have a 10 amp maybe you need higher??

Going out on a limb...maybe it will spark some thing from some one else??

Sounds like the coolers plug is not making contact in the new outlet.

well the fuse in the coolers plug is only 7.5 amps.

"not making connection"

I can feel the spring on the end of the connector bottom out.

Re: 12v outlet works but doesn't?

Give it a twist inside the outlet. On some of the male plugs only one side of the barrel makes electrical contact, even though there are 2, one is just for tension. Twist it to make sure it has a good connection in your new outlet. Another idea, compare plugs side-by-side. My first thought was that it is not seating all of the way in either, you said you felt it bottom out, but make sure.
