Visibility of interior guages and radio

Does anyone out there have any comments, solutions to the fact that in bright sunlight (especially with sunglasses on) you cannot see the compass, etc. or the radio, clock information. I have tried changing the colors on the radio but they still disappear in all but the dark of night. Thanks.

Take off your sunglasses! Seriously though, that is a problem, I can't see much either with the shades on but there is not much we can do about it. The FJ has little window space and very little light enters the cabin. I have trouble finding things that I drop on the floor as well.

Re: Visibility of interior guages and radio

I got so tired of it I had an aftermarket Nav unit installed. It's plenty bright enough.

Now if someone made an after market speedo and other guages. . .

Re: Visibility of interior guages and radio

My sunglasses are polarized which make seeing the dials and guages even more difficult.

Re: Visibility of interior guages and radio

Just the LED displays disappear when I am wearing polerized sun glasses (radio, clock and temp); even the GPS screen dims a little. Solution, don't wear polerized sun glasses. Problem, all my sunglasses are polerized.
