1leglance,
I think that the mount looks excellent.
I would like to see how the laptop is attached/held in place on the table top.

Re: Jeniko Laptop Mount Install

velcro baby...industrial super sticky velcro...I actually had to lessen the amount I had since I couldn't get the laptop off w/out a bread knife the first time. It is rock solid and I have no worries about it flying off.
I will try to get a pic in the next day or so

Re: Jeniko Laptop Mount Install

I've been using the Jotto. It can be mounted without drilling by replacing the two bolts at the bottom of the double drink holder, behind the gear shift, with longer bolts and with two large washers to spread out the pressure.

I use velcro as well. The whole setup has been fairly sturdy through some rather severe angles and dangles but I'm looking for a little sturdier so for $50 I think I'll give your idea a try. Thanks.

Re: Jeniko Laptop Mount Install

The Jeniko "universal no-drill" is no drill, but not universal as it won't fit the FJ. The two lower mounts are designed to fit under the seat rails and be held by the front bolts that hold the rail to the floor. The FJ has an angled mount here that will not allow the mounts to be fitted. I have one and am currently evaluating my options, but will probably go with something that involves a drill. <sigh> So I suppose that will violate the "no-drill" part as well. <heavy sigh>

Wow, it gets better. If you try to mount the rails to the passenger area floor, reversed (hidden by the floor mats), you run into more tough decisions. The hand screws used to attach the post to the mount and the stabilizer bar to its mount are 1-way only. If you try to mount them back against the seat where they belong, there's not enough clearance to get them in. You could try putting them in on the opposite way from the front in this configuration), but then you will run into clearance issues with any floor bolts you put in if you mounted them close to the attachment point (which you should do for support - otherwise it'll wobble around. ) So, you wind up pre-assembling the main post and the support arm and then bolting the mounts to the floor. I also ran into dimensioning issues with the main posts being out-of-round and had a "fun" time getting the post off the mount after a trila fit and had to hammer out the inner telescoping post. All said, it's not been a fun time trying to get this in.
