Re: install 6x9" speaker in door

Nice install, at least it's nice and clean, and it looks ok. But a word for the wise, Crutchfield is a nice resource but they don't have everything. Adapters are super easy to find:

eBay Motors: 6x9" Front Speaker Adapter Toyota FJ Cruiser 4Runner (item 200147409655 end time Sep-06-07 02:26:53 PDT)

Speaker or Tweeter Adapters For 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser - (eBay item 330091720746 end time Sep-20-07 14:36:28 PDT)

Plus most of the audio companies on this forum make adapters for 6.5" speakers instead of 6x9's I think. You can ask them, or search for them.

Re: install 6x9" speaker in door

Tacotunes adapter for the 6x9's in the door... find them on ebay and I think they are in the vendor forum here. Also, wicked CAS (also another vendor here) offers pods for the back doors to install speakers. Do a search for tacotunes, I know this has been brought up in the past somewhere on the forum. I used the tacotunes adapters in my FJ, my installer said it made life very easy for him.
Hope this helps,
Rob

Re: install 6x9" speaker in door

It doesn't look bad, That was how some of the first speaker mods were done. You used bolts and it went together really clean. The other install using the old grills was with screws drilled at an angle into the plastic to hold the speaker in....that was rather getto.

Overall, I think it's an excellent install. You can add the adapters later, if you want.
