This was released today....

Apple: Toyota Releases $300 iPod Integration Kit For All Current Model Cars - Gizmodo

I wonder if it displays all artists and songs
on the head unit, or just playlists..

Anybody find anymore detail on where or when we can buy the kit? Also, will the kit also charge the iPod? I'm guessing it will - probably just a cable connected into the H/U and existing s/w that recognizes MP3 players.

pretty nice..call me cheap if ya will but i will stick to my $10 audio cable...

I'm cheap too! But what I'd really love is to just plug in my iPod and forget about it until I'm in the mood for one of my playlists. As it stands, I now have to dig my iPod out of the glove box or bag, plug in the connector, check to see if it's charged, if not plug in the charger, power on and find the playlist.

So much easier just to hit a button on the H/U and see playlists displayed. Crossing my fingers the integration is done well.

The integration unit costs more than most ipods.

Any difference between this oem unit and the Dice or USA Spec interface? The Dice and USA are about half the price???

I have it....works well. No it doesen't show song info. Charges Ipod. Able to set up up to six playlists. In short...."SAVE YOUR MONEY". It was a impulse buy for me.
