Re: Panasonic STRADA CNNVD905U VS Pioneer AVIC-D3

Wouldnt the more fair comparison be the Avic Z2 (or the older Z1)? The Strada, from what I hear, is a nice unit. I've seen it online for only $800!! Out of respect for our vendors I wont post a link, but suggest you do a google search.
It has a harddrive based navigation, which makes navigating fast, however its only used for navigation and you cant rip music to it sadly. The only other draw back is that you cant play dvd movies while driving (as much as I want this option, probably not the safest thing).

Strada is basically an eclipse unit with Panasonic stamped on it. I decided on getting the D3 instead, no regrets.

What did you not like about the eclipse unit?

Didn't have good enough iPod integration for me, nav maps are 06 I believe, and the overall layout of the Eclipse unit isn't as good as I'd like it to be. I personally think Eclipse units are over-rated. My buddy has one and he even admits that the D3 layout and features are vastly superior compared to his. I believe THIS is the Eclipse version of the Strada. ** SPECIAL OFFER! ** Eclipse AVN5510 - Dual DVD multi-source receiver • Split screen displays • 7-Band parametric EQ • Internal crossover • Rear or side view camera expandability • CD Changer (up to 2 units) - , In-Dash Head Units, Receivers, In-dash

I dunno if its really just a repackaged unit but here is some videos from you tube.
From the looks of it is a pretty biased look but still worth checking out:

Strada Vs D3

Strada vs Z2

Strada vs Eclipse AVN6600

Strada vs. AVN6610

Wow. Those are some of the most biased reviews I've ever seen. I guess it makes sense that he would of course take the time to say why the Strada is so much better when his user name is strada07.

I DID say they look biased but it is however nice to see the interface and how it works.

I know you did. I was still saying that, that was about the most biased collection of comparisons I have ever seen. I believe Kenwood, PIoneer, Eclipse, etc all of "demonstration" videos on their website. And best buy carries the D3, as well as Circuit City. Go play with it.
