I'll be looking for these pictures. Sounds really clean and simple.
Ok, I put some photos into my gallery:

Toyota FJ Cruiser Photo Gallery - Recon FJ Gallery - Powered by PhotoPost

Still having trouble embedding images into posts... (start flame now).

Anyway, I saved you the "how-to-run power and cables" bit and just showed you the finished product. Antenna (through the glass), cable run under the headliner to floor and to transceiver under passenger seat (speaker up).

30amp power to a buss under passenger seat for CB, HAM, and other accessories.

Head unit mounted to stock face plate (came with radio). I used some MDF to build up the mount to make it level with the console. Head unit attaches via powerful magnets (came with radio) and they do not move!

RJ45 connects transceiver to head unit (wire run under console).

Hang the mike where you like. I chose the passenger side console, within reach and stays out of everyone's way.

Let me know if you have questions, I'm happy to help!

Craig

Re: <<hams Check-in Here>>

Bump - plus I have my call sign now - VE6RAO.

The iCom208H unit I was looking at was on back order, so installed the Yaesu FTM10R unit.

Plus I figured with all the new people getting their licenses, this thread needed a bump. Maybe for all of us that now have a license, we should add our call sign to our signature - just a thought....

Re: <<hams Check-in Here>>

Congratulations Canuck! Eventually we will convert everyone on the forum and throw away our crappy 11m AM (CB) radios.

I like the idea of call signs in signatures; mine's been there since I got it.

Bryan,

Congrats and welcome to the hobby.

If I get through your area I'll punch in your repeater and give you a yell.
