Did you buy a warranty?

If you upgraded your stereo, did you buy a warranty?
I'm looking to buy the Pioneer AVICD3 In-Dash Navigation/DVD Player, but the place I'm buying it from of course wants me to buy the warranty. I'm getting the system for $670.00 and the warranty is $350.00 for 4 years. Is it worth it?

The guy I talked to said I can buy Pioneer's warranty for $4xx.?? for only 3 years?

What do I do???

Thanks

The warranty costs 50% of the selling price? HELL NO!

That is what I'm thinking. Has anyone had any trouble with these systems?

Re: Did you buy a warranty?

Warranties are usually not worth it. Most of the big brand products are fairly reliable anyway. If they fail in 2 years, you might able to buy another one for 1/2 the price of the original.

Re: Did you buy a warranty?

What I've been told by people in the electonic building business-"Usually if an electronic is going to fail, it happens in the first 60 days, so don't ever pay for an extended warranty". If that is the case, it would probably still be covered anyway. I've never bought an extension, but it's all up to you.

Re: Did you buy a warranty?

Yea, where can I buy a D3 for $670? I already have my navi but know some people who'd love to get one NIB for that.
