maybe i missed something, but did you have to install a temp sensor, or is it already there from the factory?
The outside temperature sensor was already there from the factory. It is located behind the front grille just in front for the radiator, next to the horn. I believe the outside temp sensor also provides info to the engine ECM.

I would like to see pictures of the finished install
Here are a few pics of the finished install. It looks just like an FJ with an optional upgrade package.

Re: Dash Gauge Pod / Cluster Installed Without Dash Swap

I just installed my gauge pod and it was pretty straight forward following VooDoo1's instructions.

It was fun cutting a hole in my dash

Now I'm waiting for the part to install radio controls on my steering wheel.

Steering wheel mounted controls

Re: Dash Gauge Pod / Cluster Installed Without Dash Swap

Can the individual gauges be removed?

Ive been thinking about getting rid of the compass (I have GPS) and putting a 2.5-3 inch speaker in the center gauge slot.

I would go with these gauges in the pods.

I would go with BOOST gauge to go with the Supercharger(when I get it).
Oil pressure and Oil Temp.

These TRD gauges looks likes Defi gauges. Even the computer module.
Defi - Gauges & Head up displays

Defi - Defi-Link Meter

I'm glad it worked out for you. I thought it was very easy. I bought an FJammer on Ebay and installed it, but I did not do the steering wheel controls. I wasn't too sure about cutting the steering wheel trim cover. Cutting a hole in the dash didn't bother me because the gauge pod covers the cut, but if your cut on the steering wheel is off, you have to look at it all the time. Let me know how the radio control install goes. Maybe I'll get brave.

I'm sure you could buy the trim piece with the cutouts.
