I am glad it all worked out for you. Like I said, the hardest part was cutting the dash. Only because, once you cut, you have reached the point of no return. Your install looks like it came from the factory. Great job. I am glad my instructions work out for you.
Hey, next time we're up in Sac I'll let you know. Mom lives in Fair Oaks, my daughter went to Sheldon.
I may be taking a trip up there MLK Day in January. If it happens, let's get a trip to Prairie City together. Maybe drag out a few other FJ-ers, too!

Re: Dash Gauge Pod / Cluster Installed Without Dash Swap

I thought the plug for the gauge pod was already in the stock harness? Why would there be a need to buy another one and just use the connector with the blue wire? If it has a coax and speaker wires in the harness, then it seems that it is the ones already installed in the truck from the factory, no?

Re: Dash Gauge Pod / Cluster Installed Without Dash Swap

The stock plug just goes to the clock on vehicles without the gauge cluster. When you install the gauge cluster, you have to get the harness that is for the clock AND the cluster. Just like the steering wheel controls....new harness for the audio controls AND the cruise/horn. It's a simple pigtail swap.

Re: Dash Gauge Pod / Cluster Installed Without Dash Swap

i want to add in the a overhead console that has the temperature on it. Can you tell me what wire I need to tap into so that I do not have to run a new outside temperature sensor.
