Alpine M650 NEED HELP!

as far as i can tell, this amp needs 14.4V to run.

is the STOCK FJ able to comfortably power that?? do i need to get more power? i am clueless, and have no idea what i'm talking about when it comes to audio... so any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Alpine M650 NEED HELP!

yes , it needs 14.4 volts to put out its optimum power. the FJ will put out at least that much when it is idling, so just run your self a good power wire, whatever gauge alpine recommends and make sure you put a fuse in the power line within 18 inches of the battery. The amp will run on 12 volts, they give you a power rating at 14.4 v to show what it will perform while you are in the car with the engine running.

Re: Alpine M650 NEED HELP!

wow thanks for that! i was looking for hours!

do you think a RF P3 12" (500W RMS) will be able to handle the 600W x1 RMS @ 2ohm load that the M650 cranks out? I hope so...

Re: Alpine M650 NEED HELP!

yeah, according to the fosgate website you should be fine, you didn't say which sub you have ( 2ohm or 4ohm ) so, make sure you wire it up right, crutchfield has some easy to understand wiring diagrams on wiring up subs so you put the right ohm load to the sub.
