Polk 4" coaxals

I bought some 4" polk coaxals for the rear cause my cheap ass didnt get the aditional speaker option but they are touching the back metel. does this really mater if they stick away from the mount a little bit and do I just put the little cover that I poped off, back over the speakers when I get them in or just leave them uncovered?

Re: Polk 4" coaxals

I have the same speakers and had to use some plastic spacer washers from Home Depot to pull them off the back metal. Also, I trimmed out the black plastic on the back of the speaker grill to give a more flush fit. Just as an extra precaution, I lined the back panel (where the speakers MAY make contact) with electrical tape.

Re: Polk 4" coaxals

I've got the same speakers. I also used nylon spacers to keep the speaker magnets of the body.
