Thanks for the right up. I think I am going to be using this as my guide when I tackle mine. How did you like the Spectrum? Did you apply it with a paint brush? How many coats did you use? How thick did you go? Thanks and sorry for all the questions, I think I am going to try to do mine soon.

the spectrum is o.k. to use. It is messy. I am not sure how well it is working cause I installed 3 different things at the same time. makes it hard to pin point the benefit of it over the overkill pro. I used some cheap brushes from home depot- 3" inch I think. i can say that the best bang for your buck is the damplifier pro. I have some spectrum left over maybe a quarter of my gallon left, and I think I am going to get under the truck and paint above the muffler and the end of the exhaust. I will let you know. see below for why.

Hmmm, I wonder why they didn't do it then. The loudest part of the car is still from the rear muffler. That's what I want deadened. What do people use? We used dynamat for the rest of the vehicle.

I still have a good bit of exhaust drone coming from the rear, and i think I should have spent a little more time and material around the rear quarters, namely where the taillights go into the body. There is a big opening back there on each side that I only sparingly use materials in ( between the jack and the hinges to the rear door and behind the power invertor ) When you pull out the rear panels you will see where I am talking about. It is basically like I mentioned - where the tailights go into the body. I focused so much on the rear door thinking it was leting all the noise in, but that is clearly not the case, just look at how much damplifier pro and insulation I have on it. My exhaust isnt noticeable until I step down on the gas kinda hard, but I do notice it with the volume down. Two 12" subs drown it out nicely

I did use two layers of dampi-pro on the wheel wells and I used a good bit of spectrum in the vertical walls of the rear panels, basically between the rear side windows and the suicide doors. But you have to remember that I was chasing bass rattles and not luxury quiet. I now for the most part have luxury quiet, which makes the exhaust that much more noticeable.
Another thing I may try is putting damplifier pro on the bottom of my hood, cause I still have about the same , maybe a little less engine coming out the dash. I put down two layers in the front floors and the tranny tunnel ( I pulled the shifter mechanism off, the e brake handle off, the yaw sensor off and matted everything, then reinstalled it all ) I did not pull my dash out and I am not going to either. but It would be nice to get mat on the entire firewall, and I think as good as the product works It would get rid of all the engine noise in two layers.
I dont have any tire humm , I cant hear rain on my roof, the only wind noise I hear at all is from my rain visors, and my roof no longer flexes like a trampoline with the bass up, which is what I wanted. My doors sound different when you close them the truck is all around very quiet at 75 on the interstate and the exhaust drone is only harsh when you stand on it, and can be corrected I think. As I mentioned before, I am gonna work on those rear quarters a little more with some mat and insulation, and I think it is better to use the insulation like you do in a house, just lay it in , don't pack it in too tight if possible. (the rear door and suicide doors require packing it in cause of the small holes you have to work with )- I think doing that is no more of a gain than just being a waste of material and added weight. I will let you guys know how it works out, it will be a few weeks before I get to it.
