Re: sound deadener install

Well I guess it is your lucky day and my word against yours, and oh.... My location is under my avatar.....( guess you were to lazy to read ) And the same goes for me, you don't know me or my background, and I didn't post that you were lazy, or your product choices were better than mine, but you know what they say about opinions...... So big deal, you didn't spend what I spent, and I will spend more on second skin, and you will buy more packing foam. Whoop-de-dooo!!!!!!!!

Bottom line, go talk your F***ING TRASH SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Re: sound deadener install

In all honesty, I think your install rocks. I am very much into sound and would love to do what you have done. It makes perfect sense and I am SURE it works AWESOME!!!!

And I know how time consuming this is. I only did 2 layers of Dynamat extreme on my 2 front doors and 1 layer on my rear door + did 1 layer on the floor behind the rear seats. And it was a lot of work to say the least!

I have 1 TypeR 10 in the rear and it's plenty for now.

And I am very happy with the results! : )

I see that you have 6X9's in the doors and was just wondering why you went with them?..... I originally went with 6X9's too and then later took them out for components instead. I have been much happier with the components SQ over the 6X9's..... I put in polk MMC 6500's and have been very very happy.

thanks, techno

Two layers in the ceiling and the floor. one layer of most of the rear quarters. Spectrum on the roof and rear cargo area. sprayfoam in the ceiling ribs, and the cubbys inside the quarters. Then a layer of overkill pro on the ceiling and the cargo area.

I am impressed. The bass sounds like bass with no rattling or flexing of the roof anymore. I also read that the spectrum takes about a week to fully cure so it should get better. I still have to do the front doors , and the backdoor was covered in damplifier pro everywhere I could get it. Then I stuffed the door full of R-13 insulation ( R value is irrelevant, it was what was on sale at home depot ) very tight, use a socket extension to help pack it in good. that door feels like a vault door, very solid and very quiet. I did not cover the access holes yet, I am saving what mat I have left for the fronts. If I have have any left or when I order more I will touch up the back door a bit more. I still can hear the exhaust just a little bit, but no where near as loud.

Yes I compared my truck to a Lexus interior, My ex is on her third lexus now, so I know how quiet a car can be and I think this is a worth while improvement, but it is VERY labor intensive.

oh- 2 Alpine Type-R 12" subs. MRD-M1005 amp. factory sub is a joke. So are the roof speakers. I wish now I would have photographed those for you guys to see.

Re: sound deadener install

components are coming. at the time I didn't have 600 bucks to shell out on the set I wanted, and the place I get my hookup on gear doesn't carry JL audio.

thanks for the compliments
