I use these
THat way I do not have unfused wires running around. I hate the smell of burning insulation.
I do not double up the fuses like you can do, I just use them to tap off with a fused wire.
Dang That's the ticket. Where do you find something like that? Auto Zone? I hope so. I have been kinda leary about plugging a spade terminal, which I did and its working, into just the top portion of a fuse receptacle. The only reason I did it was that the 12v outlet has an inline fuse but I would much rather pay another couple bones to get one of these.
I guess a sense of security none the less.
Thanks,
MO

they were available at a local electronics supply shop (not an auto shop).
Norvac. Maybe they take phone orders.

Make sure you get the mini, I originally bought one of these and quickly found out that Toyota does not use the standard size fuse.

The mini fuses with the light emitting LED are pretty slick, they light up when the fuse is blown so it is easy to track down what fuse needs to be replaced.

Do they make them in the mini style?

Re: How to add another 12V Power Outlet
yes they do. I have installed two, one for my fog lights (signal to the switch, didn't want to wire it through the headlights) and one for my Sirius radio. One is constant on and the other is switched with Ign. Very clean way to add a circuit.
