I found a Radio Shack that was going out of business, so i picked up the outlets for 3 bucks each. Total install time was about 45 minutes and 3 beers.

thanks ruebarb! i did this installation to my fj and 2 other fj's!!twas a tad difficult to get the lower center console out because of the armrests but nothing a few bending wouldnt fix..

BTW...The arm rests are only held in by one bolt...

Any chance you've got some pictures of the guts behind this to help me plan out the install before tearing into stuff? Specifically the way you tapped into the sub power. since I have the sub I don't want to ruin the juice running to it.

is there suitable voltage in the wire that connects to the hand brake? i was getting 12+ volts, im not an electrician or anything just not quite sure if you would need more than that. plus, the only way the outlet works is when the brake is down, which in most cases is when youre driving.
