Re: How to add another 12V Power Outlet

Nice Rue. I'm still wondering if you can access the 12V under the 'map box'. I would like to have the power cable coiled up in there, and pull it out when needed... Need to investigate...

I couldn't pull out my map box, tried 3 or 4 times, not coming out in one piece.

Re: How to add another 12V Power Outlet

I'd like to see a 12V outlet in the back, and for ALL 12V outlets
to stay on with the ignition off (got used to that in the AUDI, handy
for running cell-phones, etc. even if it did allow one to do something
dumb). For the back, I suspect one could easily tap the feed to the
inverter. But it still wouldn't be on full time. I wonder if the easiest
path would be to relocate the connections at the fuse box to make
them always on.

Tap the white/w blue strip wire on the sub harness, constant on for the rear if you add 12v. I don't have the inverter, so I installed 2 -12v plugs in the cover for where the inverter socket would be. Plus there is a factory ground next to the inverter.

Re: How to add another 12V Power Outlet

Rue,

Your guide in getting power up through the front of the dash helped me install the remote head for my Yaesu 7800r.

Thanks for the pics they helped a ton.

+1

12 Volt Power Outlets

Anyone else have a problem with just one 12 volt power outlet? I figured they would at least put one in the rear. I have the 115 volt unit back there but it would be nice to have a 12 volt too.
