Eclipse AVN 2210P $399 The one with a tom tom

I found this on slickdeals and would like to pass it on for anyone in the market for a low cost in dash GPS unit.

Thought this was a pretty good deal.
Circuit City has the Eclipse In-Dash Portable Navigation system on sale from $799 to $499.

For some reason on a different part of the site, it's BUNDLED with firedog prof. installation and the price is dropped $100. Located here.

circuitcity.com

Then get an additional 10% off if you use in store pickup, using code PVAB4Q7AAT.

TOTAL: $383 AFTER taxes and install.

Pretty slick if you are looking for a nice headunit.
The eclipse head unit is compatible with HD radio, Sirius, XM, Bluetooth with internal mic, and even has a USB flash drive slot for music. No internal hard drive.

Features

Portable navigation unit: This versatile unit will help you navigate both in the car and out. There is a quick-release mechanism that detaches in seconds, so you can take it wherever you go even when you leave your vehicle behind.

Color display: The 3.5" touch screen is in full color and easy to use.

Built-in Bluetooth: No more fumbling with your phone while driving—take calls with Bluetooth hands-free wireless software so you can keep your attention on the road.

Voice guidance: The TomTom navigation unit will guide you to your destination with spoken commands.

iPod compatible: Control your iPod directly through the in-dash player to play your music collection on your car stereo. With an iPod adapter cable (sold separately) you'll get the full range of iPod controls and capabilities.

Satellite radio ready: With a SIRIUS satellite radio tuner (sold separately), the AVN2210P can play the best news, sports, talk, entertainment and commercial-free music from coast to coast.

50 watts peak power: The internal amplifier has enough juice to power a modest system, but if you want to add more audio components you should get a standalone amp as a dedicated power source. The in-dash portion still functions as a CD player when the GPS receiver is removed.

USB port: It's never been easier to transfer files or update software—just plug a flash drive directly into the unit's USB port.

This unit has been a real dog for Eclipse, I have seen it around for as low as $300 if i recall correctly on a crutchfield deal. It's not bad for the price, but most of our customers end up going with the AVICD3 or just plain portable navi.

Not a fan of the Tom Tom but if some one is on a tight budget or as a gift.

Just got mine from Crutchfield, $399 with delivery, trim kit and wiring harness. Will try to install tonight and let you know how it goes. Stage 2 will be the Polk momo 6.5" components in the front and 4.5" db coaxes in the rear. Stage 3 will be amp for speakers and Infinity Basslink II.

Re: Eclipse AVN 2210P $399 The one with a tom tom

BTW, a week later and I am very happy with this unit - for the money. Very good SQ driving the front components and rear fill, GPS is cool (my first unit, so no real comparison), the ipod link is good but not great, and the bluetooth has been perfect! Crutchfield is now sold out, but you can find them slightly higher via search engine.

I have this unit, picked it up on sale for $250. Rumor is that there will be a Trail Team edition 4runner next year and they will come equipped with the same headunit. $300 is a good deal....you're getting a portable nav unit as well as a headunit, hard to beat that.

Re: Eclipse AVN 2210P $399 The one with a tom tom

I took my FJ in this week for road force balancing and the tech there asked me about it. He said they are using that headunit already in a special edition vehicle, and was surprised that I had one in mine.
