Re: JL Audio W6 popping at higher volumes?

I haven't gotten my multimeter to set the gains on any of my amps yet so they're turned all the way down. Using a line driver for a higher voltage signal? I'm using the D3. Would polyfill help the subs any?

what amp? also, you dont need a line driver. line drivers these days are used if you are running several amps off the same signal. there is some acoustical mat that i would apply to the back wall of the enclosure that i would try first. it should cut down on some of the ping you are getting.

fake snow? make sure you know what you are sticking in the box. the woofers do create heat. let em hate you. they sold you the box. you are the customer, they need to make it right.

Just try setting it up according to the JL recommendations, usually they're pretty close, you'll have to do some further tweeking but they'll give you a good start. I used the recommended settings on my 500/1 and 10W7 and went from there.

It's just polyfill Briman. I can't believe I waited a month for a cracked box (one of em...thanks UPS!) and popping subs.

Eh, decided against the polyfill...don't really want to go to a ghetto Walmart at midnight anyway.

Re: JL Audio W6 popping at higher volumes?

I messed around with it and the gain is almost all the way down and I turned the subwoofer level up on the HU and don't get popping. Maybe I just have to tweak it right? *sigh*
