115V/400-watt power outlet

Ok I want to know if I get my FJ with the All-Terrain pak it wont come with the power outlet. That I know...now my question is will I be able to add a power outlet in the same place as the toyota one later on?

Thanks for the help guys.

Re: 115V/400-watt power outlet

NOPE. i can tell you this for sure as i had planed the same thing, also bought all the hard parts for it, switch, inverter, and outlet panel. the wiring harness is different if you dont get the upgrade pkg. I even checked with the dealer parts department they told me it only shows one harness for it so it must all be in it already. well its not, but the speaker and subwoofer harness are. you can buy the harness (300 bucks) but you have to remove just about the whole interior to do it. it has everything from the dash switches to the tail lights. my suggestion, buy the panel that the outlet is in and put in an after market inverter, i think thats the way i'm going. and the factory inverter is very small 400 watts. if you want any more info pm me.

Re: 115V/400-watt power outlet

As already stated, the harness is not there.
I plan on using stock switch and outlet and running my own hi powered inverter in the same spot at the OEM would have gone.
The cheapest is just use an inverter and be done with it, but I prefer a more stock look that is why I bought the switch and outlet (together ~60$).
BTW: The switch is momentary, so it would require a few transistors to make it into a push on/push off button...that is if you wanted to go the route I am going to go.
And yes as stated above, this will require panels to be removed...but hey nothing is free if you want it to look good.
