HELP w/Factory Sub & JVC HU

I am trying to install my new jvc kw-avx800 on my 08 FJ. I am having trouble connecting to the factory sub. i have read many other threads for other brands of head units and they are all saying that they are connecting the "blue wire" (typically remote wire) to the pink with blue factory wire. the pink with blue factory wire is lighting up ground, NOT power, and the remote wire for the JVC harness is power. So that doesn't work! If anyone has installed a JVC HU and been successful making the factory sub work, please give instructions. I'm about to go out of my mind.
thanks

Re: Help JVC HU w/Factory Sub

well for some reason the remote wire decided to work today, and after studying the wiring diagrams I realized that it does need 12V. Maybe I had already lost my mind the other night and instead of hearing things...I wasn't hearing things!

Re: Help JVC HU w/Factory Sub

you have any clean install ideas for an aftermarket 3.5mm jack for the ipod? or maybe a way to wire the existing 3 wires in the aux jack into rca left and rights?

Re: Help JVC HU w/Factory Sub

I just picked up an OEM sub.
Upon install the sub would ONLY work in the radio mode and NOT in Sirius,CD or Ipod.
When I installed my aftermarket radio I remember that the stock harness adapter harness was asking for a power antenna from the aftermarket radio harness. Yeah but the Fj does not have a power antenna. I went back and and took the harness out and swipe the power antenna with the amp remote wire. Now it is good to go.
That would explain why the sub was only on when the radio was in the tuner mode and not in other mode.
