Take it easy man. I have been all over this forum and I have not found much on sunroofs...so I thought it would be good to get some input..in one location.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what brand the aftermarket 4 runner kit is? I would like to track it down. Anyone in Colorado had this done yet or know of a vendor who is doing this. I thought it would be nice to get a gobi rack..one that has a sunroof cut out (like the one Gobi makes for Hummer) in conjuction with the sunroof or moonroof.

Tnegiet, again, this is the first place I’ve gotten good info about sunroofs. All those other threads mention a desire for a sunroof, or future features, or hanging t.ts out a sunroof. They were not focused and you seem to be the only one being so anal. Cut it out dude. You don’t have to hang in this thread if you feel it’s a waste of your time. Let the rest of us figure out how to get a sunroof in and we’ll wave to you out it when we see you on the trail. Everyone here knows there is a search function but sometimes things need to be cleaned up or more focused. So directly, do you actually have anything constructive to contribute or are you just being a search nazi. You can let the mods do that. We get it, you know how to cut and paste.

Wow, last time bothering but ummm, I have been around. In fact longer than you have. I know you like to yell about searches. I meant what have you contributed towards finding a solution to the sunroof issue?

2. Structural cross members that provide support because the length between the "A" and "C" pillars (no "B" pillar) is a longer distance than normal.
3. The roof is not as flat as most, has a definite convex shape.
4. The roof is ridged as opposed to a smooth surface (water tight sealing challenge).
5. NXT speakers placement.
6. Interference with existing wiring harness and how to provide adequate electric wiring for sunroof equipment.
7. Determine how much head room is sacrificed to install retractable sunroof gear (although there seems to be plenty of head room).
8. Finally, how to support the sunroof between the longitudinal structure that the roof rack bolts to.

I am very interested to see how long it takes Toyota to respond to an obvious demand for this option.

The answer is no one knows for sure. Who ever does it better post it and lay this issue to rest
