Lit Contura Switches Installed...

Just installed 2 Lit Contura switches in the two spots to the left of the steering wheel.
One momentary for my train horns and one on/off for my fog lights.

Slight modification needs to be made to the switch holes in order to make these fit. The holes have a raised edge that needs to be shaved off (I used a Dremel and a hot blade). Once the edge has been shaved down, the switches fit nice and tight.

Picked up the switches from a local electronics shop for about $8 each. Look better than factory IMO and can't beat it for the price.

(Sorry for the night time cell phone pics).

Re: Lit Contura Switches Installed...

I just purchased 6 of those switches for my VSC cancel, winch pwr, roof lights, bumper lights, fog lights, and rear lights. Right now the only one in is the VSC cancel and it is the only one that does not have a light. I am going to use the same 2 positions on the left side of the wheel. I am going to take the exsisting switches in the center console and move them all to the top row and put the contura rockers on the bottom since they stick out. I think I may have to modify some of the top holes to fit the factory switches because they all have a little different key on them but nothing a razor knife and a file cant fix. Nice job Matt seems that great minds think alike!

I just did that this past weekend, needed to add rooftop light switches. I put all stock switches on the bottom. I took out each switch and had to grind down the raised guides on them. I used a dremel with a small grinding stone. They are all interchangable now!

So was it easier to modify the switches instead of the console itself? I had not even thought about doing that. Thanks for the input.

It was a cinch for the stock switches. I still had to modify the console to install the new switches...I use the LED lighted Scion ones from Oznium.com. Different color LEDS for different lights.

Right on, I think I am going to do the same thing. I know that the factory switches will have to be trimmed a tiny bit to get them all on the top row, but thats no big deal. They are killer switches for a killer price. Great minds do, infact think alike.
