Re: DJ Qube's angled stereo install (pics).

I did this as well but wanted the face of the deck out flush with the console - about 1/2" different than yours. Even pulled forward 1/2" I encountered problems with the ipod plug being crammed against the steel tube behind the deck. This is a very sensitive connection as I've discovered. Did you have and problems with this? I wasn't aware of the display tilt function built into the w200 or I might have tried to mount it so that it sat as I wanted with the tilt set at 1. It's working now (again) after taking it in and out half a dozen times to F with the ipod connection but I'm not comfortable with the long term reliability. An ell shaped plug on the ipod cable that sits flat against the back of the deck would be great.

I also wanted the unit to be a certain way, and drilled several holes into the brakets to find the right depth that would satisfy me, but after having the unit set at angle 1 all the time now, I might have to readjust to account for the tilt.

Geez, I've taken the HU out and installed it so many times now I can probably take the whole console apart with my eyes closed! and in my sleep!

Re: DJ Qube's angled stereo install (pics).

I know what you mean icruiser I think I've had mine apart about 12 times now. I have finally fixed the ipod issue by making my plug ell shaped - cut about 1/2" of plastic off the back end of stock plug and bent the tab up- and it now clears and works reliably. Looking forward to a few more quick removals in the near future to install my camera and nav. unit at which time I think I'll run some patch cords for future use - scared at this point I'm going to wear out all the clips/screws involved. Good luck.

I had the same problem. That ipod cable is pretty sensitive. First I kept getting "Searching" when I hooked up the ipod, but it would never find it. The HU knew the ipod was there, but couldn't establish the connection. If wiggled it and messed with it a bit and had it going for a while, but only on the left channel! Finally, I raised the entire HU about 1/8" and that was enough for the ipod connector to clear the steel tube. I've been running flawlessly for a few weeks now.
