FJ Trail Computer

I was trail scouting last weekend and I had an idea,
why not bring along my laptop in the FJ so I have access to USGS Maps, FJ Manual, and be able to access the FJ Forums site.

So I took my Panasonic Toughbook Tablet PC and mounted it to the steering wheel and walllah, instant FJ Trail Computer and DVD player. The toughbook has a built in Verizon WIFI broadband card
that allows you to access the web and the 20Gb HDD stores all the other goodies.

Now I would only use this OFFROAD on atrail when I am stopped due to safety.

Re: FJ Trail Computer

How do you hook to the internet? Cell phone? Verizon?

Better not let a cop catch you driving like that

Re: FJ Trail Computer

Better off with one of these.

Just for safetys sake, as mentioned about the airbag.

Plus...you can leave the laptop on and run a small GPS such as a Garmin eTrex and have it track your trail ride in real time with GPS software.

I hope it's a joke. I can just imagine where you would end up if you were surfing your favorite nudy sites on that setup. Boobs are #1 cause of off-road accidents when surfing the internet.

I would nominate it for the best mpeg ever, especially in slo-mo. That would be one e-mail I would definitely forward.
