Replace factory sub with new aftermarket sub?

Is it possible to replace the stock sub with a new sub to fit in the same housing? and is it even worth it. Thoughts and suggestions, thanks.

Re: Replace factory sub with new aftermarket sub?

its possible, but you are taking a woofer designed to work with the factory amplifier and replacing it with a woofer that is designed to work with much more power. it will most likely be worse than before.

Re: Replace factory sub with new aftermarket sub?

I put a new sub in mine. However I have a whole new system with 2 amps, deck, 8 speakers and a 10" sub in a vented box. However I do have quick connects for when I go to Moab or wheeling. I take out the box and connect the 8" sub. With an amp and a amp controller you can make that 8" sound pretty good.
