Problem! If you ran wires in the door sill.

If you ran wires under the driver side door sill plastic check them.

Mine where cut threw and shorting out.
There are a set of empty white plastic clips that look perfect to run some new wires
from front to back, don't use them. When the plastic door sill goes back on
it will cut the wire in three places.

If you did the same thing and haven't had a problem yet maybe check them before it is a problem.

Re: Problem! If you ran wires in the door sill.

I did wires there, but I had to cut off a few small, unused sections of the white plastic large clips that hold in the normal wiring. I also had to zip the new wires to the existing wires where the 'supports' for the door sill plastic rests on the metal underneath.

You just have to be very careful not to smash a wire, but you should be doing that anyways. A short could easily mean a fire in a vehicle.

Re: Problem! If you ran wires in the door sill.

i have 1/0 ran down the drivers side and my three symbilink cables down the passenger side. no issues. i cut out a portion of that little support bridge that is stapled (how lame) to our carpet, i mean... our rubberized vinyl plasticy flooring...

other than having to trim that one piece, i had no issues with anything fitting right or getting pinched or punctured. i guess its just a matter of doing so many vehicles. you start to learn where you will run into trouble. really try to avoid the sharp edges of the bracing and bracketry under the dash. it is common to run wires around them. they are notorious for slicing through insulation.

You have demonstrated a critical "do-it-yourself-er" rule of thumb, one often overlooked by amateur installers, and a rule that will make the difference between a successful installation and a furure headache:

Become familiar with the vehicle construction, and the function of all related items BEFORE you modify them. Many inert looking objects have important, if not always obvious, functions, and changing things without such knowledge leads to disasters....
