2 things I'd love to see made

Greetings,

New here, Just bought a Black Cherry FJ Two things I'd pay money for:

1. I noticed there are mounts in the back that look like the mounts for another subwoofer on the drivers side in the back. Anyway, I hope somebody makes a quality storage unit piece that I could mount there. I would love to have a little more storage and that seems like the perfect spot. What do you all think?

2. One thing that I think looks very tacky is the Silver plastic air vents/dash piece. They are sooooo ugly! I would gladly pay for some nice brushed aluminum pieces to replace them. Or something else that looks nice.

Opinions?

A roof rack that doesn't cause as much wind noise as the current one - but that also looks as nice; maybe that's asking too much.

I would also like it if they made a running board that looked good - I saw one on another FJ this morning but they were not Toyota parts because I checked. If only I knew where he got them....

Welcome to the Black Cherry FJ...Isn't it a great color. (Besides trying to keep it clean.)

Two things I'd like to see on the market:
1. A kit for letting the back door windows at least pop out a ways...vent a little.
2. A spare tire cover with replaceable sayings: Hummer recovery vehicle.
A dirty FJ is a happy FJ etc...

Thanks for the welcome. I wish the back window would retract back into the door and you could roll it down like any other window. The new Chevy trucks do that. I would LOVE that!

But nobody has commented on wanting more storage. Do people not wnat more storage? I thought of another way to store stuff. You know the three child hooks on the back of the back seats. I imagine a leather bag that has latches that could latch onto the hooks and hang there for more storage. But it latches onto all 3 hooks so it is a very long bag. I'm just dreaming....

Re: 2 things I'd love to see made

I would like a locking gas cap cover like my 1992 4X4 Toyota Extra-Cab Pickup has.

I wish the rear seats would fold down flat so the whole back end of the vehicle would be a flat surface.

C-Columns create too large a blind spot.

Don't get me wrong. I really like my FJ. I just dropped a Kenwood DDX6019 head unit in it with a Sirius receiver. The navigation unit goes in tomorrow night.

I am debating on whether to wait for the stock roof rack to come in or ordering an aftermarket one.

Re: 2 things I'd love to see made

I want a cover, probably brushed aluminum for the storage cubby right behind the parking brake. A place to hide from prying eyes.

I've got a design in mind but no way to manufacture it! It could also be plastic and color coded with the FJ's exterior like the inserts! Metal/plastic fabricators out there?
